A live storefront of in-stock books: the catalog is pulled straight from the inventory sheet, while search engines and AI see every book with its price — no script execution needed.
Book s vami is a small book project in Valencia: Russian-language kids' books for families raising children outside a Russian-speaking environment. The whole inventory — restocks, sales, stock levels, prices — lived in a Google Sheet. To show the range, the owner had to hand-assemble posts for Instagram and Telegram. So what's in stock right now and for how much — customers couldn't really see.
They needed a public storefront that always shows exactly what's in stock — with no manual updates and no separate "database for the website".
We built a single-page storefront that pulls the catalog straight from the inventory Google Sheet via Apps Script. A book is sold — it disappears from the page on its own; a price changes — it updates automatically. No second database: there's a single source of truth. On top of that: search, filters by age and publisher, a book card, and an "I want this book" button with a ready-made message in Telegram or WhatsApp.
There was a catch: the catalog was rendered by a browser script, so search engines and AI (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) saw an empty grid. We added a daily pre-render: the server itself builds a page where every book and price is already baked into the code, together with Schema.org markup, sitemap.xml, robots.txt and llms.txt for AI. The live load stayed — for freshness for people.
Now, for the question "where to buy Russian kids' books in Valencia", the storefront answers people, search engines and AI alike — equally up to date, on its own domain.
